One day in 8th grade...

We are somehow back in Texas from S.C. -- I think this was via the help of the homeless shelter, on a bus, with lots of pork rinds. Going to stay at Denny's properties again.

Part of 7th and 8th grade? Don't really remember, but definitely 8th grade. Let me remind you first of how often I have seen my father by age 13/14. Last significant amount of time spent with him was 2/3 years old. Saw him only for about an hour when I was 10, when he came to get Erik to live with him.

Now, to the present, or rather that day in 8th grade.

Call to my classroom...Leila come to the principal's office... mom is waiting there she says she is taking me from school that day. Outside waiting is a taxi cab. We get in and there is a small box of stuff between us. The driver knows where to go - we arrive at Greyhound bus station. Mom says, you are going to visit your Dad & Erik for a few days. Really? Haven't seen Erik in 3/4 years, and don't know dad. I don't remember if I was upset, or not upset... I just remember getting on the greyhound bus with a few dollars from mom for food and that very very long bus trip from Dallas Texas to Ft. Collins Colorado. I remember what I was wearing, tall black boots and jeans because some nice lady asked if I rode horses.

Erik and Adonna (who I was to first meet, Dad's girlfriend) meet me at the bus depot. We drive straight to Estes Park and have a fabulous day.

Sometime in the next couple weeks Mom finally calls, says you are staying with your Dad and not coming back...last I was to hear from her for 10 years.
